Tourist Attractions to Visit While on a Cruise

1. Sung Sot Cave – The most magnificent stalactite and stalagmite paradise.

Located on Bo Hon Island, Sung Sot Cave is one of the largest and most magnificent limestone caves in Ha Long Bay. Its unique name originates from the “astonishment” of the French explorers when they first set foot here in 1901.

• The path to the cave: You will walk and climb about 50 stone steps under the cool shade of the forest trees to reach the cave entrance.
• Interior landscape: The cave spans 10,000 square meters and is divided into two main chambers. The first chamber resembles a grand theater with its ceiling covered in a shimmering “velvet carpet” of stalactites. The second chamber opens up into a vast, magnificent space beyond imagination, filled with millions of stalagmites and columns in unique shapes (elephants, mounds of rice, flowers, leaves, etc.) combined with a magical artistic lighting system.
• The cave’s summit: At the highest point of the cave, there is also a “royal garden” with a crystal-clear lake, lush greenery, and home to troops of wild monkeys.

 2. Titop Island – Panoramic views of the heritage site from above.

Titop Island (named by President Ho Chi Minh after Russian cosmonaut Gherman Titov during his visit in 1962) is notable for its steep cliff and sloping shoreline boasting a crescent-shaped beach of fine white sand embracing the foot of the island [Titop Island].

• Relaxing beach: Ti Top (Moonlit) Beach, though not very large, boasts clear, calm waters year-round thanks to the surrounding rocky islands that shield it from the wind, making it ideal for a refreshing dip.
• Conquering Ti Top Peak: This is the most expensive activity on the island. You will challenge yourself to climb approximately 400 stone steps to reach the observation deck at the summit. From this vantage point, you will enjoy the most beautiful 360-degree view of Ha Long Bay , taking in thousands of limestone islands rising from the emerald waters and luxurious cruise ships anchored nearby.

3. Luon Cave – A masterpiece of kayaking .

Also located on Bo Hon Island, not far from Sung Sot Cave, Luon Cave is a water cave (a cave that winds through the heart of the mountain) about 60m long with a ceiling 2.5m – 4m above the water level depending on the tidal water level [Luon Cave].

• A unique experience: This is the ideal place to try kayaking yourself or ride in a traditional bamboo boat rowed by locals [Luon Cave].
• Isolated beauty: As the boat glides gently through the dark, windswept cave arch, a vast, enclosed saltwater lagoon, as still as a mirror, unfolds. The lagoon is surrounded 360 degrees by towering limestone cliffs, where cycads and orchids cling and hang down.
• Natural specialty: The cliffs surrounding the lake are home to troops of wild golden monkeys [Hang Luon]. They frequently climb and play near the water’s edge, begging for fruit from tourists.
