Specifically, you will visit Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta in the South, Da Nang and Hoi An in the Central, Hanoi, Ninh Binh and Ha Long in the North. This is an opportunity for you to see nature, learn about urban life and the village, and visit the famous spiritual and historical places. In addition, the trip also gives you an understanding of the difference in history, lifestyle, culture and cuisine between the three regions of Vietnam.

Itinerary

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City Arrival – Ho Chi Minh City Tour (L, D)

Welcome to Tan Son Nhat airport. Smile Travel‘s driver will pick you up at the airport and go to the restaurant for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will visit the most prominent points in Ho Chi Minh City with the guide. 

First, we will visit the Independence Palace, also known as the Reunification Palace, an iconic work of Ho Chi Minh City. 

After that, we will walk to see the beautiful architecture from the French colonial times here, including the Central Post Office and Notre Dame Cathedral. Finally, a destination that you cannot ignore is the War Remnants Museum, which displays artifacts from two Indochina wars. 

19:00: You will have dinner at a local restaurant, a famous place for South Vietnam food, before returning to the hotel in the city center.

Day 2: Mekong Delta Full Day Trip (B, L, D)

8:30: After breakfast at the hotel, visitors will get in the car to temporarily leave the hustle and bustle of “Pearl of the Far East”. 

We will drive to My Tho, a town on the left of the Mekong River. When you arrive, you will visit the first Vinh Trang pagoda. This is a Buddhist pagoda built in the late 19th century. 

After that, we will board the Sampan boat to walk on the river, around the four beautiful islands, Dragon Island, Unicorn Island, Phoenix Island and Tortoise Island. The boat arrives at Unicorn Island, visitors will walk around the countryside, see the fruit garden and enjoy tropical fruits by season. In the meantime, you will enjoy Vietnamese folk music, which is characterized in the Mekong Delta region, performed by locals. 

Next, you will have time to visit a fruit farm before riding on a hand-rowed Sampan boat through Thoi Son canal. On the way, you will feel the fresh, cool and overwhelmed air by the peaceful beauty on the banks of the canal. 

Next, we will stop at a family business and visit the beekeeping farm. This is a great opportunity for you to enjoy honey tea and join the coconut candy workshop. 

After lunch at a local restaurant, you will have a short time to rest before starting the journey to visit the afternoon. 

In the afternoon, you will cycle around Tan Thanh village, meet and talk to the locals to learn about everyday life in the Mekong Delta. If you can’t ride a bicycle, you can lie down to relax and enjoy the cool breeze. 

After the bicycle tour, you get on the bus to return to Ho Chi Minh City, ending the second day of the Vietnam tour 10 days. 

19:00: We will take you to a restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City to have dinner before taking you to the hotel.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels – Fly to Danang (B, L, D)

8:30: After you have breakfast at your hotel and are ready for the trip, Smile Travel will pick you up at the hotel and go about 1.5 hours to Cu Chi Tunnels. 

Upon arrival, you will hear a short introduction and watch a video that introduces how Vietnamese people have built a tunnel and survived in the harsh conditions of wartime. After that, you will have time to explore the system of tunnels, including bedrooms, kitchen, command center, archive room, weapon factory and scene hospital. Cu Chi Tunnels also arranged many hidden traps and dangerous traps such as maze to ensure security during the war. 

After experiencing the tunnels yourself, you will enjoy special tea and cassava – a guerrilla food used in the war. Next, you can rest and relax or experience a real shooting gun. 

After that, visitors will have lunch at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel in the city center to check out. The driver will take you to Tan Son Nhat airport to catch flights to Da Nang (flight costs are not included). Pick up time will be streamlined according to your flight schedule. 

Coming to Da Nang, you will have dinner at a local restaurant after checking in at the hotel.

Day 4: Ba Na Hills – Golden Bridge (B, L, D)

8:00: Our car and tour guide will pick you up at the hotel or rendezvous in the city center, after you have breakfast at the hotel. The first destination on the fourth day of the Vietnam tour 10 days is Ba Na Hills. 

Cars will go along the Nguyen Tat Thanh tourist road, the most beautiful sea road in Central Vietnam. On the way, you also have the opportunity to admire the longest suspension bridge in Vietnam – Thuan Phuoc suspension bridge, Red beach – where the French colonialists landed for the first time when coming to Da Nang, and Thanh Binh beach. 

9:00: The car stops at Ba Na – Mo stream cable car station, where you will start the journey to the mountain with a modern cable car system to reach 4 world records. When traveling to the cable car, you can see the Mo stream with white waterfall, red leaves and primeval forests. 

You will visit Linh Ung Pagoda, where the majestic Shakyamuni Buddha statue is located. This temple is built at a height of 1400 meters, the highest in Southeast Asia. 

After that, you will go through the colorful flower garden “Le Jardin d’Amour” before arriving at the Golden Bridge. Like a symbol of Ba Na Hills, the Golden Bridge has a length of 150 meters, supported by a giant hand. When walking here, you will feel lost in a fairy tale, where it is covered with clouds and very close to the sky. 

You continue walking to Debay Station and follow the second cable line to Ba Na Hills. 

Here, you will visit the third largest indoor park in the world Fantasy Park. This is the time for you to participate in fun and exciting games like Dinosaur Park, Love Wheel, Fire Track, Skiver Pilot, Haunted House, Tramcar, Spider-Man, Free-Falling Tower, Mill Wind (most games are free). 

Next, you will rest and enjoy the peaceful scenery of the French village, the mountains and squares,… 

12:00: Tourists take the cable car down the mountain. On the way, you can enjoy the panoramic scenery of Da Nang city and Da Nang Bay that is hidden under a sea of ​​white clouds. 

12:30: Tourists have lunch with a buffet at a restaurant in Ba Na. After that, you will have a short time to rest, have fun and admire the scenery in Ba Na. 

15:00: You take the cable car down the mountain and get on the bus back to the hotel in Da Nang to bathe. 

17:30 – 18:00: Guests have dinner at a local restaurant with famous South Vietnam food. After dinner, you have free time to explore the nightlife in “the most livable city in Vietnam”.

Day 5: Da Nang – Marble Mountains – Basket Boat (B, L, D)

After breakfast at your hotel, you will drive to visit Marble Mountains – the mountain range named after 5 elements of the universe. Upon arrival, you can explore caves and visit beautiful natural landscapes, as well as sacred temples such as Tam Thai pagoda, Huyen Khong cave, Linh Ung Pagoda,… 

After that, the tour guide will take you to the stone village of Hoa Hai, the Non Nuoc ancient stone village that has existed for more than 300 years. Here, you can admire the delicate stone works, made by skilled artisans. 

Next, visitors will visit Cam Thanh Island to see the rice and buffalo farms, and walk on round fishing boats and catch crabs. This is a great time to relax and explore the real Central Vietnam. 

Visit Bay Mau coconut forest, visitors will:

• Taught by local people how to make hats, rings and clocks from coconut leaves.

In the afternoon, we will drive to the ancient town of Hoi An, which was recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage in 1999. Here, you will walk around the old town and visit the old houses, the Guangdong hall and the covered bridge. The yellow houses with ancient architecture and the daily life of the locals will surely make you overwhelmed. 

After dinner in Hoi An, you can enjoy the scenery of the old town at night and participate in interesting activities before returning to the hotel in Da Nang.

Day 6: Da Nang – Fly to Hanoi City (B, L, D)

Morning: After breakfast at a hotel in Da Nang, you get in the car to Da Nang airport and catch a domestic flight to Hanoi (flight costs have not been included). The pick up time will be arranged in accordance with your flight schedule. 

Coming to Hanoi, you will have lunch at a local restaurant before starting the afternoon trip. 

14:00: Smile Travel‘s guide and driver will pick you up to visit West Lake and Tran Quoc Pagoda – the oldest temple in Hanoi was built in the sixth century. 

After that, we will head to Ba Dinh Square and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum – an important mausoleum and a symbol of Hanoi and Vietnam. 

Note: Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum will close on Mondays, Fridays and Afternoons. However, we will take you to visit outside the mausoleum. 

Next, we will walk short to One Pillar Pagoda, a unique architecture built in 1049. The journey of walking will continue in the old neighborhood of Hanoi, where you can feel the most realistic about the life of the locals. 

On the way, you will visit the Opera House, Hoan Kiem Lake and the Train Street. 

Evening: Have dinner at a local restaurant. After dinner time, you can freely explore the city at night. The night market usually takes place on weekends.

Day 7: Hanoi – Ninh Binh (Hoa Lu – Tam Coc) (L, D)

After breakfast at the hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter, you will go to the meeting point to get in the car and move about 2.5 hours to Ninh Binh, starting the 7th day of the Vietnam tour 10 days.

The first attraction of today is Hoa Lu – the ancient capital of Vietnam. Here, you can not only visit the famous ancient temples of the Le and Dinh Dynasties, but also learn about the feudal history of Vietnam. 

After that, you will move to Tam Coc for lunch at about 12:30 before starting the afternoon journey. 

After lunch, you will go by boat to visit Tam Coc to admire the beauty of the magnificent limestone mountains and the clear water of the Ngo Dong River. After that, visitors will cycle about an hour (about 5 km) on quiet roads, through rice fields, villages, rivers and stone cliffs of Tam Coc. 

At the end of the bicycle tour, you will drive back to Hanoi. 

The car will drop you down to the hotel around 18:30. After bathing and resting, you can enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and walk on the bustling streets.

Day 8: Hanoi – Halong Bay – Overnight on Cruise (B, L, D)

You have breakfast at your hotel and check-out to be ready for the eighth day of the Vietnam tour 10 days. 

8:00 – 8:30: You get in the car to move to Halong Bay, about 3 hours from Hanoi. 

11:00 – 11:30: Arrive in Halong, you will join a high-class cruise tour and enjoy a welcome drink. After checking in, you will enjoy a lunch with fresh seafood while the ship goes through on the bay of heritage, where the gathering of thousands of limestone islands rise on the water. 

After lunch, visitors will go trekking a short part to the nearby summit to admire the panoramic view of Halong Bay from Titop Island. 

This is the time for you to swim on a quiet beach or sunbathing on the deck.

Day 9: Halong Bay – Hanoi (B, L, D)

If you participate in 5-star cruise tours, visitors will teach from 6:30 to exercise Tai Chi. On the contrary, you can still wake up early to admire the sunrise on the bay. 

You can sip a cup of coffee or tea while relaxing before departure today. 

After that, we will go to the Sung Sot cave, a splendid place with natural stalactites hanging on the ceiling high. You can visit and take memorable photos in the cave. 

After a short walk, you return to the cruise to enjoy lunch with Vietnamese cuisine while the cruise is returning to the port. 

Upon arrival, you get in the car to return to Hanoi. You will have dinner and rest in the old town.

Day 10: Hanoi – Departure (B)
