Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi Arrival – Hanoi Walking & Street Food Tour
Our tour guide and car will welcome you at Noi Bai International Airport (New Terminal Gate 02 (Meeting point at Column 10)). We transfer to the city for the Hanoi Walking Tour.
Smile Travel will provide you with a private pedestrian tour in combination with discovering Hanoi street food. Our tour guide, who is knowledgeable about local culture will lead you to some of the best food stalls and restaurants in Hanoi Old Quarter. This is an opportunity for you to observe local life while enjoying the unique flavor that makes Hanoi a attractive culinary destination.
You will try about 10 different dishes, enough to fill the belly for lunch or dinner. Overall, the tour departure time is quite flexible, depending on your flight schedule and interest.
Overnight in a hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter
Day 2: Hanoi – Sapa – Cat Cat Village (B/L)
7:00: After you have breakfast at the hotel, car and guides of Smile Travel will pick you up at the hotel to depart for Sapa, starting the second day of the Northern Vietnam itinerary 8 days.
11:00: Short rest in Lao Cai before coming to Sapa.
12:00: You come to Sapa, where the colorful of traditional costumes of H’Mong, Dzay and Tay people. After checking-in the hotel, you will enjoy lunch with Vietnamese dishes in Sapa.
14:30: You get in the car and drive a short distance to the gate of Cat Cat village at the foot of Hoang Lien Son mountain range, where the Black H’mong people live. This is the time to observe the daily life of the local people. You will go to the bottom of the valley to the waterfall where the French built a hydraulic power plant. Visitors can stop and take photos with the bridge and waterfall before walking to the bus to return to Sapa.
After dinner, you will have a free time to visit Sapa
Overnight in Sapa
Day 3: Sapa – Fansipan Peak by Cable Car – Quy Ho Pass (B/L)
After breakfast at the hotel, our guides and drivers will take you to O Quy Ho Pass. After that, we will move to the cable car and take 20 minutes with cable car to enjoy the spectacular scenery. When you reach a height of 2800 meters, you will admire and take photos, visit spiritual destinations. After that, you will walk 600 steps to reach the top of Fansipan – the roof of Indochina. After visiting, you will get in the car to return to town and have lunch.
In the afternoon, it is a free time for you to explore local life and culture.
Overnight in a Hotel in Sapa
Day 4: Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van Village – Hanoi (B/L)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will get in the car and drive to Y Linh Ho. After that, you will go trekking through the terraced fields and along the Muong Hoa stream to the village of Lao Chai of H’mong Black. At this time, you can see the spectacular landscape of Hoang Lien Son mountain after coming to Ta Van village – the homeland of the Dzay ethnic people. The bus will pick you up at Ta Van Bridge to return to Sapa. Coming to Sapa, visitors will have lunch at a local restaurant. Then there is a period of relaxation, entertainment and free shopping.
15:00: Visitors get in the car to move to Hanoi.
20:00: Coming to Hanoi, you check in hotel and rest.
Overnight in Hanoi
Day 5: Hanoi – Halong Bay – Halong Bay Overnight on Cruise (B/L/D)
7:30: After breakfast, we will pick you up at the hotel to depart for Halong Bay. Arriving at the pier, you will go to a high-class cruise and enjoy a welcome drink.
After checking-in, you will enjoy a seafood lunch while the yacht passes through the Gulf of heritage, where thousands of sculpted limestone islands rise from water.
After lunch, you will trekking a short part to a nearby summit to see the whole bay on Titop Island. You can also swim on a quiet beach or sunbathing on the deck.
In the afternoon, you will return to the yacht to admire the sunset and join in the cooking class. Next, you will enjoy the meal you have prepared for dinner. After that, you can freely participate in activities in the cruises such as night squid, karaoke,…
Overnight on the Halong Bay cruise
Day 6: Halong Bay – Hanoi (B/L)
6:30: You will greet the morning with the Tai Chi lesson on the cruise and the dramatic sunrise view.
After that, visitors will relax with a cup of coffee or a cup of tea before departing to the Sung Sot cave, a cave with many stalactites hanging on the ceiling high.
In the afternoon, you return to the yacht to lunch with Vietnamese cuisine. At the same time, the cruise will move back to the port and take you back to the hotel in Hanoi.

Day 7: Hanoi – Hoa Lu -Tam Coc/Trang An Eco Tourism Complex 1 Day Trip (B/L)
Visitors will board the car to depart for Ninh Binh province and visit the ancient capital of Hoa Lu after breakfast at the hotel. Hoa Lu is the capital of Vietnam for 42 years (968 – 1010), including 12 years under the reign of King Dinh, 29 years under the Le dynasty and 1 year under the Ly dynasty. In 1010, after King Ly Thai To moved the capital from Hoa Lu to Thang Long – Hanoi today, Hoa Lu became the old capital.
Currently, Hoa Lu has two temples built on the ground of the old royal palace, including the temple for King Dinh Tien Hoang and a temple of King Le Dai Hanh. The 7th day on the Northern Vietnam itinerary 8 days will open up opportunities for you to learn about the history of feudal dynasties in Vietnam.
➤ After visiting Hoa Lu, you will move to a local restaurant for lunch. Next, you will take a bamboo boat in the Hoang Long River to Tam Coc, where there are three natural caves and are like “Ha Long Bay on land”. On the way, you will have the opportunity to admire the rice field if you come here in April or September.
➤ At the end of the bamboo boat trip, visitors will get in the car to return to Hanoi. You will have dinner yourself, and you can freely visit and sightseeing night scenes in Hanoi.
