2. History of Vuong Palace formation
Vuong Palace Ha Giang was started in 1898 and completed 9 years later, in 1907. In addition to being inspired by the beauty of Hmong culture, this mansion also possesses a unique architecture with two cultural combinations of China and France.

3. What is unique and attractive about Vuong Palace?
When first setting foot in Vuong Palace, visitors will be amazed by the unique and timeless architecture of this mansion. The road leading to the palace is paved with flat, square, gently sloping slate and the entire palace is surrounded by two stone ramparts. The outer citadel is a wall about 40cm thick and 2m high. The inner wall is thicker and more solid than the outer wall. Between the two citadels is a 50m wide area of land to grow bamboo trees.
Vuong Palace consists of 4 horizontal houses, 6 vertical houses and is divided into 3 areas: the front palace (for guards and servants), the middle palace and the rear palace (the king’s living and working place) with The 64 small chambers are divided into 2 floors and seem to be made of wood. With an area of nearly 3,000 square meters, you would think this architectural work is very massive, but no, this mansion is not too large because it is composed of small, simple, rustic subdivisions of folk architecture. Along with the low inside and high outside design, the overall villa feels closer to the surrounding landscape.
To meet the criteria of solidity, the workers used stone to make the mansion more stable against enemies and time. The roofs, walls and pillars are all made of wood to add majesty to the rooms. Tile roofs are made from terracotta so they are very sturdy. The house gate is designed in the shape of a curved bat wing, symbolizing wealth.
The interior of the mansion is well preserved and maintained to this day. The interiors are carved with patterns of native flowers such as cherry blossoms… creating a friendly feel. Some items are influenced by the West such as: stone goat milk bathtub, window next to the fireplace, stone exit,… bold French style.

- On the way to Vuong Palace, because the distance is relatively far, please be careful, go slowly and pay attention to safety along the way. If you are tired, you can stop at rest stops and continue your journey.
- Vuong Palace is an ancient building, so if you have the opportunity, you can rent the national costumes of the H’mong people here to dress up as ethnic girls/boys to keep for yourself. The most beautiful photos and memories.
- Always maintain a gentle, friendly, polite attitude, do not speak too loudly or make noise at the attraction, avoid affecting other guests.
