    Overview:

    Hanoi, located on the banks of the Red River, is one of the oldest capitals in the world. It offers a unique blend of ancient heritage and colonial charm, where visitors can explore well-preserved French architecture, historic pagodas, temples, and one-of-a-kind museums right in the city center.

    Hanoi City Tour Full Day Itinerary:

    08:00 – 08:30: Pick-up at your hotel by our friendly and experienced tour guide. Begin your full-day journey to discover the highlights of Hanoi.

    08:45: Visit Tran Quoc Pagoda, located on Golden Fish Island in West Lake. Built in the 6th century, it is the oldest pagoda in Hanoi.

    09:30: Explore the Ho Chi Minh Complex, where you’ll have the chance to view the embalmed body of President Ho Chi Minh (if open). Walk around the peaceful gardens and see the Stilt House and Presidential Palace where he lived and worked from 1954 to 1969. Then visit the iconic One Pillar Pagoda, known for its unique lotus-inspired design and sacred worship of the Goddess of Mercy.

    ⚠️ Please dress respectfully—covering shoulders and knees when visiting the Mausoleum, pagodas, and temples.

    The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is closed on Mondays and Fridays.

    🛠️ It is also closed for maintenance annually from June 15th to August 15th, but visitors can still take photos and tour the surrounding area.

    11:15: Head to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology to learn about the cultures of 54 ethnic groups across Vietnam.

    📍 Note: On Mondays, the Museum of Ethnology is closed. We will visit the Vietnamese Women’s Museum instead.

    12:45: Enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant, featuring 8 delicious authentic dishes.

    14:00 – 14:15: Visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, built in the 11th century and dedicated to Confucius.

    15:15: Tour the Hoa Lo Prison Museum (also known as the “Hanoi Hilton”), which was originally used by French colonists to detain political prisoners and later housed American POWs during the Vietnam War.

    16:15 – 16:30: Tour ends of Hanoi City Tour with Smile Travel. Return to your hotel.

    • Optional Cyclo ride or Water Puppet Show can be arranged at the end of the tour.

    Children policy:

    • Children 1 – 4 years old: Free of charge
    • Children 5 – 9 years old: 75% of adult price
    • Children 10 years and older: Full adult price

    Special notes:

    • Please bring essential items such as cash, a phone/camera, raincoat or umbrella, sunscreen, etc., depending on the weather.
    • Optional Cyclo ride or Water Puppet Show can be arranged at the end of the tour.
    • The itinerary may end slightly earlier or later depending on traffic and other conditions.
    • Tour order may be adjusted based on the guide’s arrangements.
