Thousand year old tree named “chò”
The “cho” tree is 70m high, straight trunk, 5m diameter. This tree has two trunks, a large base, and a circumference of about 20 people. For about 5-6 years now, the tree has dried up and rotted, the reason being that it is said to be too old. Even so, the tree still stands upright.
This is considered a must-see attraction in Cuc Phuong. From the center, following a trail in the old forest to reach the tree, visitors will encounter giant “bàm bàm” vines with a base diameter of 0.5 m, running one kilometer long across the forest and the multi-species species. Seeds germinate in other tree cavities. When the roots take hold of the soil, they grow very quickly. On the way to “chò” trees is Son Cung cave. The travel time for this route is nearly 3 hours.
Ancient tree named “đăng”
The tree is 45m high, 5m in diameter with roots floating on the ground running about 20 m long. From the gate, follow the motorway, pass Nguoi Xua cave for two kilometers, on the left is the road leading to this ancient tree. On the way, visitors will pass five rocky slopes, with many plant populations such as the seven-leaf-one-flower tree (the seven-leaf tree) which are woody vines with a diameter of 20-30 cm about 100 m long or birds. valuable animals such as red-bellied robins, red-headed woodpeckers, white pheasants or animals such as crabs, black squirrels, red-bellied squirrels, and white-rumped langurs.
Ancient tree named “sấu”
This is a giant tree 45m high, the buttress root system is divided from the trunk at a height of about 10 m and then grows to a length of 20 m. On the way to the tree, visitors can also admire woody vines, epiphytes such as mistletoe, kite nests, orchids, and birds such as red-headed woodpeckers and striped-bellied tailless.
Cuc Phuong Museum is a place to visit and study specimens for students and experts in animal and plant conservation. Currently, the museum is storing more than 50 archaeological samples, including positive plates of plate-toothed reptiles dating back to 230-250 million years ago, 122 pickled samples, 82 animal samples, 2,900 insect samples of all kinds, and more than 12,000 specimens. plant specimen.
3.3. Conquer May Bac peak, Nguoi Xua cave, Yen Quang lake
May Bac Peak is the highest peak in Cuc Phuong National Park, with an altitude of 648m above sea level. From the center, visitors go about 3 km to climb to the top. Standing on the top, you can see the panoramic view of the national park and the ancient capital of Hoa Lu and Bai Dinh pagoda. To go to the top of the mountain, visitors need to prepare appropriate clothing and ensure health because there are many rocky slopes that make moving difficult. Return time is about 4 hours.
Nguoi Xua Cave: The cave is about 4km from the forest gate. It is a place where traces of living and burial of prehistoric people are kept, and is a cultural site in the history of human development. This place is also a valuable heritage site located within the protection scope of Cuc Phuong forest. The cave has stalactites, if you try to knock on it, it will make a sound like a gong. Guests walk 300 meters from the main road. Visiting time is from 30 minutes to one hour. The garden is only allowed to visit this place during daylight hours.
Yen Quang Lake is a large lake system, the lake includes a small island and a temple located on it. The lake attracts many types of birds flying here. In addition, when looking down at the lake surface, visitors can clearly see the shadows of each forest and cliff.
