1. General introduction to the Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts
Located at 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi, the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum leaves an impression on visitors when it owns a massive collection of thousands of art artifacts and sculptures, paintings, ceramics,… by Vietnamese artists.
The museum has opening hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will be open every day of the week, from Monday to Sunday. Therefore, you can visit the museum on any day and within the time frame we mentioned above.
Established in 1966, the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum Hanoi has a noble mission, which is to research, collect, display, restore and communicate documents, artifacts as well as fine works of art.
Previously, during the French colonial period, this museum was built with the sole purpose of being a place to stay for the daughters of French officials in Indochina who were studying in Hanoi.
Until 1962, this place was handed over to the Ministry of Culture and renovated, turning this place into a place to store and display works of art through the ages.
