Where is Cuc Phuong National Park?

Cuc Phuong National Park (or Cuc Phuong forest) is the first national park in Vietnam. A nature reserve and special-use forest located on the boundary of 3 regions of the Northwest, Red River Delta and North Central of 3 provinces: Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh, and Thanh Hoa.

About 120km south of Hanoi capital, Cuc Phuong National Park is the first national park of Vietnam, established on July 7, 1962, the park covers an area of 22,200 hectares, of which three-quarters are limestone mountains. 300 to 600m above sea level.

Features of Cuc Phuong National Park

The best time to visit Cuc Phuong National Park

The most suitable time to go to Cuc Phuong National Park is in the dry season (from December to May), when the weather in the forest is very cool. Moving from the northern provinces along National Highway 1A to Gian Khau junction (Gia Vien), turn right onto National Highway 12A, pass Nho Quan town 2km, turn left and continue for about 7km to reach the forest gate.

The forest is open from 6am to 10pm. The ticket price is divided into 3 objects:

– Adults: 60,000 VND / person

– Pupil, students: 20,000 VND / person

– Children: 10,000 VND

– Children under 5 years old: free

Some notes when traveling to Cuc Phuong National Park

Don’t forget to bring some of the following items:

Insect sprays: The humid climate should be an ideal place for mosquitoes and insects to breed. In particular, the rainy season is a favorable condition for them to grow. So, equip a bottle of bug spray (mosquito) to protect your skin.
